General Questions

What should I look for in a qualified appliance service business or technician

  1. Experience and Expertise: Look for a company with a proven track record and extensive experience in repairing a wide range of appliances. A company that has been in business for a considerable period may indicate reliability and expertise.

  2. Licenses and Certifications: Ensure that the technicians are properly certified and licensed to perform appliance repairs. This ensures that they have received adequate training and adhere to industry standards.

  3. Reputation and Reviews: Check online reviews and testimonials from previous customers to gauge the company's reputation for quality service, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.

  4. Honesty and Transparency: Choose a company that prioritizes honesty and transparency in their dealings. They should provide accurate assessments of your appliance's condition, discuss repair options openly, and avoid upselling unnecessary services.

  5. Transparent Pricing: Look for a company that provides transparent pricing upfront, including estimates for repairs and any additional fees. Avoid businesses that provide vague or unclear pricing information.

  6. Warranty and Guarantees: A reputable appliance repair company should stand behind their workmanship and offer warranties or guarantees on both parts and labor. This provides peace of mind and assurance of quality service.

  7. Insurance Coverage: Verify that the company carries liability insurance to protect against any damages or accidents that may occur during the repair process.

  8. Customer Service and Communication: Choose a company that prioritizes excellent customer service and communication. They should be responsive to inquiries, provide clear explanations of the repair process, and keep you informed throughout the service.

  9. Use of Genuine Parts: Ensure that the company uses genuine manufacturer parts or high-quality aftermarket parts for repairs to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your appliances.

  10. Promptness and Availability: A reliable appliance repair company should offer prompt response times and flexible scheduling options to accommodate your needs, including emergency repairs if necessary.

What Should I look out for when searching for an appliance service business?

When you're on the hunt for an appliance service business, remember to keep a few things in mind, like the factors we talked about earlier. One biggie? Don't fall for super cheap prices right off the bat. Why? 'Cause you want to make sure the company you're dealing with will stick around long enough to fix your appliance when the parts come in. If they're not making enough, they might not last. Keep in mind that even if you're initially charged a low fee for the first visit, the repair cost might include additional charges to compensate for the discounted rate.

How much should I expect to pay for an average appliance repair?

The expense of an average appliance repair varies, influenced by factors such as the appliance type, damage severity, and labor requirements. Generally, service call fees range between $50 to $300, covering potential diagnostics. Further, parts and labor typically tally between $100 to $700 or more, contingent on repair intricacy and part costs. For an accurate estimate tailored to your needs, it's wise to request a quote directly from the repair company. Keep in mind, however, that not all repairs are equal; for example, installing a compressor may exceed $2000. Thus, prioritizing value over the lowest cost ensures your appliance endures for the long haul.

When should I call an appliance service business to have a technician out to my home?

There are two key times. Firstly, if you notice something off with your appliance – maybe it's making a strange noise or there's a sudden leak – it's important to get a technician out there pronto. Waiting too long can lead to further issues and additional expenses. Secondly, it's a smart move to schedule a technician visit once your appliances are over a year old. Just like any other mechanical device, appliances benefit from regular maintenance to extend their lifespan and improve efficiency. A reputable appliance service business will offer preventative maintenance options, which not only help prevent breakdowns but can also qualify you for repair discounts.

What makes Doc Danielson different?

Doc Danielson Appliance Repair and Care was founded in honor of Dale Danielson, who embarked on his journey in appliance repair in 1964. With a self-taught expertise gleaned from technical manuals, Dale established and ran an appliance service business in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for over five decades. At its peak, the business employed up to 15 professionals dedicated to appliance repair. In 2008, we extended our services to the Dallas area, bringing with us a unique training approach for our technicians and staff, refined over years of proven success. When one of our technicians visits your home, you're not just getting an individual; you're enlisting the support of an entire team committed to ensuring your experience is nothing short of exceptional. You'll observe them utilizing various software tools and engaging in discussions to ensure accurate diagnoses, emphasizing our commitment to integrity and transparency. Rest assured, our technicians prioritize honesty, ensuring you receive truthful assessments, even if it means advising against a repair when it's not economically viable.

What are my cost to have you out to my home?

We're dedicated to offering our clients pricing structures that ensure sustainable service in the long term, with additional discounts available for those who serve our community and prioritize appliance maintenance. Clients who keep their appliances properly maintained can also benefit from substantial discounts. On average, without any discounts applied, repairs typically range from $200 to $500, varying based on the specific requirements of the repair job.   We supply our terms and conditions to every client before we come out and explain our pricing on a phone call before we schedule a tech to come out.

What measures has Doc Danielson Appliance Repair and Care implemented to expedite appliance repairs while keeping costs manageable for clients

We've implemented a precise system to expedite appliance repairs while keeping costs manageable for our clients. Our primary objective is to achieve as many one-stop fixes as possible. To achieve this, we employ two key strategies. Firstly, our service vehicles are stocked with a comprehensive inventory of commonly used parts, ensuring we're prepared to address a wide range of issues on-site. Additionally, we gather detailed information from our clients, including model numbers and specific symptoms experienced with each appliance. This approach allows us to ensure that the right technician is dispatched for the job, optimizing efficiency and accuracy. While we strive to provide comprehensive service, there are certain situations where we may not be the best fit, such as instances involving a failing compressor in an LG appliance. In such cases, we're committed to honesty and transparency, directing clients to the most suitable solution, even if it means recommending another service provider. You can rely on us to prioritize your best interests, even if it means directing you elsewhere.

Maintenance Details

When should you start scheduling regular maintenance for your home appliances, and why is it necessary?

Our home appliances can have maintenance as early as 12 months after purchase, before that most appliances have a warranty that prevents any service company that is not contract with warranty work to open it up.  The current maintenance schedule requires maintenance to be done once a year, this will lower the wear and tear to parts and help the unit last longer, work better and cost less to run.

How often should I have my dryer and dryer vent cleaned out?

It is recommended that you have your dryer and dryer vent cleaned out at least once a year and if you have a business such as nail salon with a residential dryer in it that it be done twice a year or every six months.  This will substantially lower the risk for a dryer fire to happen in your home or business.

What discounts are available with your maintenance programs?

Our maintenance programs have different discounts available.   Our best value waves the majority of labor for an entire year for less than a cup of coffee a day!
